Save the Date: 1861 Giving Challenge taking place Oct. 4

The campus community is invited to save the date to participate in the university's 1861 Giving Challenge.

It will take place on Wednesday, Oct. 4 — one week from today — and the effort needs your help.

Dr. Thomas Mahl ’80 will donate $60,000 to Oswego if 861 people make a gift in 1,861 minutes. The challenge clock begins at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 4 (the 200th birthday of Edward Austin Sheldon), and runs until 3:01 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5.

ASAP session to discuss helpful resources of OLS, Penfield Library

The Adult Student Assistance Program (ASAP) will sponsor an online session tonight (Wednesday, Sept. 27) at 7 p.m. for those looking to learn more about the university's Office of Learning Services (OLS) and Penfield Library.

These are two helpful resources on campus and available online, and this session will let students know the best way to take advantage of all OLS and the library have to offer. The session will include opportunities to connect with staff who can help.

CTS Cyberbits: Shared living safety

Rich 'N' Pour Cafe open for semester

The student-led, student run Rich 'N' Pour Cafe in Rich Hall is now open for the fall semester.

Completely run by business students, the cafe offers a variety of baked goods, quick bites and refreshing coffees and teas. The campus community is invited to support these student entrepreneurs. Check out this story to learn more about the cafe project, which launched in spring 2023.

Biochar topic of next RCA Reflections talk

Pat Jones from Clean Maine Carbon will discuss "Biochar: Putting carbon back where it belongs" in the next edition of Rice Creek Associates (RCA) Reflections at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Rice Creek Field Station on the SUNY Oswego campus.

The talk at the field station is free and open to the public.

Network maintenance for Citrix virtual applications taking place Sept. 22

On Friday, Sept. 22, from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., network maintenance will take place affecting access to the online Citrix virtual applications. During this time period, Citrix will be intermittently available when using it from a computer in a lab or classroom podium. Access to Citrix outside of these locations will be unaffected.
