'Intersections of Reproductive Justice' panel discussion set Wednesday

The SUNY Oswego Gender and Women's Studies Program will host a panel discussion on "The Intersections of Reproductive Justice" from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 29, in the Marano Campus Center auditorium, room 132.

Sally Roesch Wagner, Executive Director of the Matilda Joslyn Gage Foundation in Fayetteville, will explore the term "reproductive justice" through a conversation with panelists on how experiences with reproductive justice differ based on race, income and gender identity among other social locations.

Inclusive Community: LGBTQIA+ Working Group hosting open forums

The Inclusive Community LGBTQIA+ Working Group is hosting open forums for LGBTQIA+ students, faculty and staff to learn about the work of the Inclusive Community LGBTQIA+ Working Group, and to share feelings, needs, concerns and suggestions.

Input will be included in a final report and plan to guide the campus moving forward.

Program offers professional apprenticeship opportunities for 2023 graduates

Thanks to the CenterState CEO Foundation and the Canadian Career Apprenticeship Initiative, SUNY Oswego is teaming up with economic development partners in Central New York on an innovative program to help a select group of new 2023 graduates launch their careers here in Central New York. 

Google MFA to be implemented starting Wednesday

SUNY Oswego is taking the next step to enhance campus digital security and protect personally identifiable information and intellectual property. In continuation of the multi-factor authentication (MFA) security initiative the campus has been undergoing with various SUNY Oswego digital applications, Campus Technology Services (CTS) will be enabling MFA on LakerApps, the Google suite of Gmail, Calendar, Drive, Classroom and associated collaboration applications such as Google Chat and Meet.

'Discover Wellness' employee worksite wellness program returns

This spring, "Discover Wellness: Find A Healthier You" once again will offer its weekly, face-to-face or virtual, five-week program.

All SUNY Oswego employees are welcome to take part in "Discover Wellness," beginning April 10, 2023. This program focuses on stress reduction, healthy eating, increasing physical activity and improving overall quality of sleep.

Participants will receive free weekly wellness reinforcements and group wellness coaching that will assist them in making a behavior change that will aid in increasing their overall quality of life.

Auxiliary Services invites applications for program grants

As part of supporting SUNY Oswego’s strategic plan and its initiatives, the Auxiliary Services board of directors invites applications for grant funding aiding programs that help to create a vibrant campus community.

These funds must be used in the current academic year, ending at May Commencement. Applications are available via this link (Microsoft Word format) and are due by April 6, 2023.

Faculty/Staff/Student Bowling Night set

The Office of Student Orientation and Family Engagement (SOFE) announces a Faculty/Staff/Student Bowling Night planned for Tuesday, March 28 from 8 to 11 p.m. 

After the cancellation of the Faculty/Staff/Student Tailgate due to weather back in February, SOFE is proud to announce this free bowling event at Lighthouse Lanes for faculty and students alike. The event will feature free pizza and soft drinks, and Cosmic Bowling starting at 9 p.m.

SEFA hosting Explore Oswego baskets fundraiser

From March 13 to 31, the university SEFA (State Employees Federated Appeal) campaign will sell chances on one of three baskets under an Explore Oswego theme featuring items from local businesses.

Chances cost $5 each or six for $25. Visit the SEFA website to check out the fundraiser, which includes a link for ticket purchase (please note entrants must be over 21 to win).
