LGBTQIA2+ (the acronym stands for lesbian, gay, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, two-spirit plus) History Month is a month-long awareness of the history of the community along with the continued pursuit of LGBTQIA2+ rights.

Penfield Library contains hundreds of thousands of books and ebooks and has digital access to even more articles from journals, magazines, and newspapers. Still, there are times when SUNY Oswego’s library doesn’t own or license the content a student or employee needs for their research, says Assistant Library Director Emily Mitchell.

The university’s State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) committee plans fundraisers connecting with October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, benefiting the Oswego County Opportunities Cancer Services program.

Activities include a pink apparel sale throughout the month, a Pink the Rink women’s hockey game on Saturday, Oct. 21, and Pink Day on Friday, Oct. 27.

The Fall 2023 In-person Internship Fair, 4 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 18, in Marano Campus Center's Swetman Gym, will feature more than 100 companies and organizations with opportunities for all majors.

As of last week, more than 150 representatives of local, regional and national partners were confirmed, including more than 50 alumni -- with more companies and organizations coming on board on a daily basis.

The Office of Career Services said that more than 600 students attended last year's event.

Each year, the State University of New York recognizes outstanding professional service through the conferral of the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Professional Service.

SUNY Oswego, in partnership with Wegmans Pharmacy, will host flu vaccination clinics on Monday, Oct. 16, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Marano Campus Center's Swetman Gym. 

Oxford Nanopore will be at SUNY Oswego's Syracuse Campus on Oct. 10 and 11 for biomedical informatics faculty and student training and to discuss DNA/RNA sequencing technology.
