College extends welcome to families

In lieu of a traditional Family and Friends Weekend, the college community is embracing a more flexible and inclusive model which welcomes families to visit their current students any weekend and/or weekday during the academic semester.

SEFA seeks bakers (and tasters) for annual Bake Off fundraiser

Later this month begins the 20th annual State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) United Way Bake Off, and organizers invite faculty and staff members to consider baking a dessert to help raise money for this popular and tasty campaign.  

In addition to traditional entries, SEFA encourages bakers to consider making special items like those that are gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan and sugar-free to expand the number of tasters who can enjoy this fundraiser.

The members of Her Campus invite members of the SUNY Oswego community to join them for some fall festivities from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, at nearby Ontario Orchards.

Organizers are setting up some apple picking and a picnic lunch at the orchard. Participants are invited to bring their own snacks and drinks.

Approximately one third of SUNY Oswego students identify as first-generation college students, as do many SUNY Oswego employees who were the first in their family to earn a higher-education degree.
