SEFA Stuff A Bus drive collecting items for local schoolkids

The university’s State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign continues its sponsorship of the annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign, which provides school supplies to children in need in Oswego County’s nine school districts. 

Collection boxes around campus (see below) will receive drop-offs. The collection is underway and will run through Aug. 18. The effort unfolds in partnership with the United Way of Greater Oswego County.

Three dynamic Lakers join Oswego Alumni Association Board of Directors

An award-winning elementary teacher, a NASA scientist-turned-data-software engineer and a police investigator will bring their unique perspectives and experiences to the 32-member Oswego Alumni Association (OAA) Board of Directors. The new members began their three-year term in July.

The board elected the following individuals to the board during its June meeting:

Required student surveys on myOswego

August 4, 2025

Each year, students are required to complete a series of important surveys on myOswego before they can register for classes. These include:

  • Acceptance of charges
  • Agreement to the Code of Conduct
  • Emergency contact information
  • Acknowledgement of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA)

Starting July 31, students were no longer automatically redirected to these surveys upon logging in to myOswego.

2025-26 parking permits now available

July 22, 2025

Parking permits for the upcoming 2025-2026 academic year are now available and can be ordered online by visiting the Parking Portal website.

Upon ordering, you can indicate if you would like to pick up the permit at the Parking Office during regular business hours or request to have it be mailed. If choosing to have it mailed, please be sure the address is correct and allow 7 to 10 business days for mailing.

Final reminder: Purchase new computers meeting Windows 11 hardware requirements by Aug. 1

Reminder: Panopto, Zoom retention policy running Sept. 19

Campus invited to retirement celebration for Andy Michaelis’ 33 years of transformative service

The campus community is invited to a retirement celebration in honor of Andy Michaelis' 33 years at SUNY Oswego, his achievements, contributions and lasting impact on the SUNY Oswego community. The event will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. on Thursday, July 31, in 215 Penfield Library.

After a remarkable 33-year career at SUNY Oswego, the university's database administrator and enterprise architect -- widely known as "the guy in the hat" -- will retire on July 31.
