SUNY Oswego will conduct a simultaneous test of the college's emergency communication systems tomorrow, Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2020.

At approximately 11:45 a.m. this coming Wednesday, the college will send messages via NY-Alert, the college website, campus phones including classroom and conference phones, teaching station computers, emergency broadcast system outdoor speakers, and digital signage.

Bestselling author and nationally syndicated advice columnist Harlan Cohen will discuss "Getting Comfortable with the Uncomfortable" in a free talk at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 26, in the Sheldon Hall ballroom.

Registration is now open for SUNY Oswego's popular summer STEAM camps.

The Division of Extended Learning offers summer camps for children ages 7 to 14. The four-day STEAM Quest Camps in July, hosted in neighborhood schools throughout Oswego County, encourage students to discover and explore topics in science, technology, engineering, art and math.

Topics will include coding, 3-D printing, robotics, virtual reality, circuitry and more.

The application deadline to apply to work with the Office of New Student Orientation has been extended. Interested students now have until 4 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 28, to take advantage of this paid opportunity to become a Laker Leader or Program Assistant for summer 2020.

President Deborah F. Stanley will host her student drop-in session today (Friday, Feb. 21) from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center food and activity court.

All students are encouraged to drop in, say hello to President Stanley, ask a question or discuss a topic important to you.

SUNY Oswego's Pre-Optometry Club is collecting used prescription glasses to donate to SUNY Optometry for their mission work. People who donate their old glasses can give the gift of sight to those in need.

Audiences for one of the upcoming Syracuse Vocal Ensemble performances of “Birds” will see a show that SUNY Oswego connections helped take flight.

The artistic director of the Syracuse Vocal Ensemble is Julie Pretzat, who is also dean of Oswego’s School of Communication, Media and the Arts. Pretzat drew on Oswego talent for the multimedia show celebrating feathered friends for the approach of spring.

On a semesterly basis, Campus Technology Services reviews the software that is available on Advanced Technology Classroom  (ATCs) and adjusts the offering. While adjustments are made over the breaks, changes can still be made during the semester.
