To help make students, faculty and staff feel more at home, custom campus scenes are now available to use as Zoom backgrounds for lectures, chats, meetings and other interactions on the online platform.

Yards for Yeardley walk against violence to become virtual, month-long event

Every April for the past few years, members of the SUNY Oswego campus community have walked to remember victims of dating and domestic violence, and walk to prevent future acts, through Yards for Yeardley. This year, the event continues online and expands throughout April.

Advisement Center offers multitude of services online

The college’s Advisement Center is now providing online advisement sessions, videos and more resources to help meet the needs of SUNY Oswego students. 

Virtual advisement sessions can be accessed through www.oswego.edu/advisement via Zoom. Students can follow the link during the posted available hours to talk live with an academic success advisor.

Peer educators launch online Talent Thursday

In an effort to keep the community connected and showcase student performers, student peer educators are launching an interactive Instagram show called Talent Thursday at 7 p.m. tonight (April 2).

Student performers can request to join the @ozpeereds live feed on Instagram or submit their own performances as Instagram stories while tagging @ozpeereds to be added to the Talent Thursday stories. Student peer educator Hayley Rosario serves as host.

Students can connect with alumni for advice, career information

The college's Alumni and Development Office is offering Oswego students an opportunity to connect with the vast SUNY Oswego alumni network for advice and career information.

The office is here to support students and the campus community during this challenging and unprecedented time. All students, faculty and staff are encouraged to reach out to the Alumni and Development Office to make a virtual connection with one of our over 87,000 alumni, whether individually or in a classroom or group session.

Empire Plan offers LiveHealth Online program

The Empire Plan is doing all they can to support its enrollees through this unprecedented time and has introduced a new telehealth benefit to help them access health care services remotely. LiveHealth Online lets enrollees stay home and have a video visit with a board-certified doctor or licensed therapist on their smartphone, tablet or personal computer.

Online tutoring available to students via OLS

The Office of Learning Services (OLS) is now providing online tutoring services to help meet the needs of SUNY Oswego students. Our virtual center will provide one-on-one peer tutoring and writing assistance through the combined use of Tutortrac and GoBoard.com.

AMA announces virtual e-board elections, open to all students

Course withdrawal deadline extended to May 8

SUNY Oswego has moved the April 4 deadline for course withdrawals to the last day of classes on May 8 for the spring 2020 semester.

Students should discuss their status (in any course they are considering withdrawing from) with their academic advisor and, where appropriate, with the Financial Aid office. With this change, we want to make sure that students have ample time in making this critical decision.

Writing Fellows Program to host virtual drop-in hours to support remote writing

Writing Across the Curriculum and the Writing Fellows Program will hold online Drop-In Hours via Zoom for any faculty member who would like to think through how to work with student-writers remotely.
