Faculty Accessibility Fellows strive to promote academic inclusion

The second class of Faculty Accessibility Fellows marks part of an ongoing faculty-led effort to promote an inclusive campus culture that supports all learners. 

“The Faculty Accessibility Fellows program is just one other way where Oswego is a real leader when it comes to faculty development,” said Fiona Coll, an English and creative writing faculty member who coordinates this year’s program.

Counseling Services announces new access options for students

With the college moving to remote instruction and other changes during this time, staff of the Counseling Services Center are working remotely but still aiming to offer the critical services they provide in person.

Winners announced for college's Creative Writing Awards

The English and creative writing department recently announced recipients of its annual Creative Writing Awards for top student submissions across genres.

The recognition normally takes place during Quest, but with the annual celebration of scholarly and creative activity heading online this year, the department announced the awards early and passed along praise to all participants. Organizers are working on creating a virtual award ceremony to take place sometime in April.

In light of the current environment surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, our on-campus activities around Quest 2020 have been cancelled (Syracuse and main campus). However, we are excited to partner with Penfield Library to offer a digital opportunity for both students and faculty to showcase their creative and scholarly work. 

Artswego presents funding opportunities; applications due April 6

Toll-free calls to no longer require additional codes

Due to a shift in technology, Campus Technology Services said campus dialers no longer need an access code to dial toll-free numbers from a college phone.

CTS said the change increases flexibility to make any needed changes to off-campus calling while reducing the number of digits dialed for customers. 

This change provides more convenience for the end user, who will not need to add their outgoing call code since a toll-free call incurs a zero charge on their phone bill.

Information session on student fees slated March 11

Students who are interested in learning more about student fees are invited to attend an information session on this topic from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, in 201 Marano Campus Center.

Each semester, students pay a health fee, an athletic fee, a transportation fee and a technology fee on their bills. These fees are charged to all undergraduate and graduate students and are called "broad-based fees." All students are invited to attend and join the conversation on their fees.

Campus Recreation badminton, dodgeball league deadline March 10

The Campus Recreation deadlines for the Intramural Dodgeball and Badminton leagues are today, Tuesday, March 10, at 11:59 p.m.

The 6 v 6 Dodgeball league begins Monday, March 23, to be played Sundays from 6 to 10 p.m., Mondays from 7 to 10 p.m. and Tuesdays from 7 to 10 p.m/ in Swetman Gym. Register on imleagues.com/oswego.
