Digital OZ seeks student stories

The Digital OZ project asks students: Can you tell a story about yourself in 500 words? 

Digital OZ is a website that showcases personal SUNY Oswego student stories. Organizers will work with students to write about their connection to SUNY Oswego -- whether it's their passion for their major or minor, their involvement on campus, a project they have created, research they have done, something they have discovered about themselves since being here or other topics.

Last chance to RSVP for Rice Creek Annual Social and Small Grants Presentations

The campus community is invited to join Rice Creek Associates on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 2 to 4 p.m. for refreshments, conversation and to learn about the research that takes place at SUNY Oswego's Rice Creek Field Station. Several 2019 Small Grants recipients (listed online) will present on their research projects, with topics including geology, parasitology, environmental DNA sampling, songbird studies and more.

EAP to sponsor 'Families and Financing' session

The Employee Assistance Program (EAP) and Mary Tone Rodgers, the college's Marcia Belmar Willock Endowed Professor of Finance, will present two lunch-and-learn sessions about finances and debt on Wednesday, Nov. 6.

Winter Session registration now open

October 24, 2019

Winter Session 2020 registration has begun, having kicked off this earlier this morning (8 a.m. on Oct. 28, 2019). Because classes can fill quickly, interested students are advised to register quickly. 

This convenient, three-week, online session runs Jan. 6 to 24, and offers the opportunity to earn up to four credits in a condensed time frame from anywhere.

A debuting Technology Innovation Showcase poster session from 9 to 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 24, will feature the work of SUNY Oswego students and faculty during the 80th annual Technology Fall Conference.

24-Hour Giving Challenge today seeks gifts for matching fund

If 500 donors make a gift today (Oct. 24), as part of the college's 24-Hour Giving Challenge, technology education professor Richard Bush (’92 M’97) and his wife, Diane Kruse Bush (’92 M’99), will give $25,000 to the Fund For Oswego.

Gifts of any size, and to any designation, are gifts in support of Oswego students. Donors' support can make a big difference in these efforts and in reaching the goal of 500 donors in a single day. 

Write Ways Series to address citation styles

The Write Ways Series will present "As Easy as A, T, P (Author, Title, Publication Information): Core Concepts for Citation Practices" at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in Penfield Library Classroom 215. Jim Nichols from the library will make the presentation.

Those attending the workshop can learn how a few core concepts will help them crack the code of any style and begin to read and write like an insider, organizers said.
