Nominations for the 2022-2023 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service close on Monday, Feb. 20, 2023. Any member of the campus community may nominate an eligible state employee presently serving in a full-time classified service capacity.

Seeking presenters for 15th annual Sportsmanship Day Symposium

The annual Sportsmanship Day Symposium, scheduled for Thursday, March 2, seeks presenters to help convey a multidisciplinary look at sportsmanship (or sportspersonship) in the 2023 edition.

Co-sponsored by SUNY Oswego's sports studies program and the Sociology Department, the symposium will take place from 2:20 to 5:15 p.m. on March 2. Participants give an approximate 12-minute presentation on a story/event that involves sportsmanship, whether good or poor.

Brightspace widget change to include online support services

On Monday, Feb. 13, at 8 a.m., a new “SUNY Online Support Services” widget will be added to the Brightspace home page. This will list the contact information and support hours for the SUNY Online Help Desk. 

This resource will help supplement the support provided at SUNY Oswego and is available to employees and students.  

The widget will be listed on the right side of the page, under the calendar, and will look similar to the following.

 

Grants available for research at Rice Creek

Scholars, scientists, educators, students and members of the general community are invited to submit proposals for the Rice Creek Associates Small Grants Program by Feb. 15. Approved projects must involve work at SUNY Oswego's Rice Creek Field Station.

Awards are expected to range between $500 and $2,000. Grant recipients need not be affiliated with the university or the field station. RCA has awarded over 100 projects since 1996.
