Drive under way to support SHOP pantry

Students Helping Oz Peers (SHOP) seeks support from the campus community to continue to provide for those in need among the SUNY Oswego family.

Due to high demand, SHOP currently could use more supplies for their pantry. These items include but are not limited to cereal, milk (non refrigerated until opened), pasta, pasta sauce, canned ravioli, pasta/rice sides, rice, toilet paper, tissues, lotion and shampoo/conditioner. 

Native American studies and Triandiflou Institute recognize Orange Shirt Day

Native American studies students and Triandiflou Institute interns and staff will table in Marano Campus Center from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 28, 29 and 30 to recognize Orange Shirt Day.

The National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, known as Orange Shirt Day, is a Canadian public holiday established to recognize the legacy of the Canadian Indian residential school system.

SUNY Oswego will conduct a test of the university’s emergency communication systems next week on Thursday, Sept. 29, 2022 at approximately 9:45 a.m. Are you registered and ready to receive this test and all future emergency alerts and weather-related announcements or cancellations at SUNY Oswego?

Health Services to hold student flu vaccination clinic on Monday

SUNY Oswego Health Services will host a flu vaccination clinic at the Mary Walker Health Center from 1 to 3 p.m. on Monday Oct. 3, for students only. This will be a walk-in clinic.

Writing Center to offer classroom visits

SUNY Oswego's Writing Center staff will be available to visit classrooms and share information about writing tutoring services. If you would like to schedule a classroom visit, contact steven.smith@oswego.edu.

Visits are approximately 10 to 15 minutes. Smith will need to know the course, as well as where and when the course meets.

Submissions open for Great Lake Review fall edition

Submissions are now open for the Fall 2022 issue of the Great Lake Review, Oswego's student-run literary magazine. The deadline for submissions is 11:59 on Friday, Oct. 7.

OLS offering new online tutoring option

The Office of Learning Services (OLS) has contracted with ThinkingStorm, an online tutoring service to provide free online tutoring for SUNY Oswego students. 

This service complements the no-cost, peer tutoring OLS provides for all SUNY Oswego students through its three distinct centers: The STEM Center, Tutoring Center and Writing Center all offer in-person appointment-based and drop-in tutoring sessions.
