Budget Advisory Group meeting to take place on Nov. 14

SUNY Oswego’s university-wide Budget Advisory Group meeting for 2023-2024 will take place from 8 to 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 14.

Q&A time today with Office of the Dean of Students

The Office of the Dean of Students will be at the Rich 'N' Pour Cafe in Rich Hall from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, Nov. 14, to speak with students.

The first 10 students will get a $5 off coupon for any retail cafe on campus. All students are invited to meet the Office of the Dean of Students there to have a conversation or bring any questions. This is part of the office's student outreach and support program.

President Nwosu to hold drop-in meetings today for faculty and staff

SUNY Oswego President Peter O. Nwosu will host a drop-in session today (Nov. 14) for faculty and staff from 11 a.m. to noon in the Marano Campus Center Chu Atrium.

All faculty and staff are invited to stop by and meet with President Nwosu during these in-person drop-ins, which are held periodically throughout the semester.

WRVO to air special on sustainability produced by broadcasting students, professor

"Energizing CNY," a one-hour special that explores how central New York is helping New York State achieve ambitious clean energy goals, will air on WRVO Public Media Nov. 16 at 3 p.m.

Four broadcasting and mass communication majors joined communication studies associate professor Michael Riecke to produce the program.

Riecke, along with seniors Clarissa Karki, Natalie Barden, Scott Brubaker and Samantha Keaney, introduce listeners to the people and organizations that are leading regional efforts to promote, adopt and expand sources of sustainable energy.

SUNY Oswego signs to glow purple in recognition of World Pancreatic Cancer Day

SUNY Oswego’s main entrance signs will glow with purple light starting at sundown today, Nov. 16, in recognition of World Pancreatic Cancer Day and as a way for many to remember loved ones lost to pancreatic cancer, support those living with and beyond the disease, as well as raise vital awareness during November’s Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month.

Penfield Library offers late-night resources

Calling all night owls: Penfield Library is here for the campus 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Looking for some space to work or study? Penfield’s 24-Hour Room is always accessible with student ID and includes space for collaboration, comfortable furniture, vending machines, a computer lab and Laker Print stations.

Upcoming hockey games to feature Teddy Bear Toss supporting Toys for Tots

SUNY Oswego’s SEFA (State Employee Federated Appeal) campaign again will partner with Laker hockey teams and Toys for Tots for the sixth annual Teddy Bear Toss.

Laker hockey fans are welcome to the Deborah F. Stanley Arena and Convocation Hall this year for two Teddy Bear Toss games. The women’s hockey game takes place this weekend -- at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 18 -- with the Oswego men's hockey game at 7 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 8. 

Social Security and retirement planning workshop scheduled
