There’s still time to sign up for the 10-day Accessibility Challenge, which begins Monday, Jan. 11. Anybody who creates digital content -- for instruction, websites or social media -- is invited to become part of the SUNY Oswego accessibility community.

Annual leave expiration extension offered to UUP, MC employees

The annual vacation accrual cap has been extended for employees in the United University Professions (UUP) and management confidential (MC) units.

Normally, any vacation accruals in excess of 40 days at the close of business on Dec. 31 are forfeited to bring vacation leave credits down to 40 days on Jan. 1. However, unused annual leave can now be carried over for an additional year through Dec. 31, 2021.

These changes will automatically be reflected in the SUNY Time and Attendance system. No action on the part of employees would be necessary.

Imagine 2021 to offer new career development program

All SUNY Oswego students and Class of 2020 graduates are invited to participate in Imagine 2021, a FREE and innovative five-week career development program focusing on career exploration, building and honing a stand-out online presence and professional brand, discovering internship and job opportunities, and more -- all while connecting with alumni, employers and student leaders for mentorship and guidance.

Alumnus to lead webinar on business continuity during pandemic

In a Tuesday, Dec. 8, webinar, 2000 SUNY Oswego graduate Tim Riecker, a certified emergency and disaster professional, will provides tips on how to prepare both businesses and families for emergencies that arise (particularly the current COVID-19 pandemic), and how to ensure business continuity during those emergencies.

Counseling Services offers Winter Session resources

During the Winter Session, Counseling Services will be open and services are available for students. Regular office hours for the Winter Session are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., and students may ask about services or get connected with a counselor by calling 315-312-4416. Changes posted to campus mail service

The following changes are taking effect for campus mail deliveries:

For residence halls: All packages from UPS, Federal Express and other delivery companies for residence halls will go directly to Hart Hall, until the spring semester starts.

December virtual planetarium shows highlight 'Constellations of Winter'

The Shineman Center planetarium will host live virtual shows on "The Constellations of Winter" at 7 p.m. every Sunday in December.

This show will focus on the Winter constellations: Orion, Taurus, Canis Major, Canis Minor, Gemini, Auriga and Cetus. It also notes that Mars, Jupiter and Saturn are still visible in the evening sky. 

Faculty member part of Smithsonian online panel Dec. 15

History professor Gwen Kay, who also serves as president of the SUNY Faculty Senate, will be part of the panel for a discussion presented by the Smithsonian National Museum of American History titled "Looking Good on that Zoom Call: Personal Appearance During Quarantine," an online discussion at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 15.
