College promotes Daylight Hour, even from home, on June 22

SUNY Oswego will join many other SUNY campuses and hundreds of organizations around the world on June 22 in a campaign to raise awareness of the value of simple daylight to save energy and improve health. 

Members of the college community are asked to switch off lights in day-lit offices, even if in home offices, for one hour at noon on Monday, June 22.

SUNY promotes Virtual Pride Celebration

The SUNY Pride Festival has become a month-long virtual celebration for June. 

Details will follow in the weeks ahead on the SUNY Pride website, www.suny.edu/pride.

The campus community is invited to register for a virtual celebration of Pride on June 25, where together the SUNY family can showcase the commitment to equity and inclusion across the SUNY System. 

Student Emergency Fund assists students impacted by COVID-19

Information for employees on July 4 holiday

We have been advised by the Governor’s Office of Employee Relations that another day will not be designated to be observed as a holiday by State employees in lieu of July 4, 2020.

Full-time employees who are entitled to observe holidays, and are not scheduled to work on Saturday, July 4, will be credited with holiday compensatory time after July 4, 2020. 

Alumni connections offered to support Summer Sessions, programs

The Alumni and Development Office can offer faculty teaching courses during the Summer Sessions or staff overseeing summer programming opportunities to connect alumni with students virtually in your online classroom, in webconference small-group meetings or during online events.

The college's network of over 88,000 alumni from a diverse array of industries and backgrounds is eager to network and share knowledge with Oswego students now more than ever.

SUNY Oswego ROTC cadets earn national honor

Cadets Zoe Garrison and Joseph Farr of the Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) at SUNY Oswego recently earned national recognition for their academics, character and leadership.

Cadet Garrison, of Oswego, and Cadet Farr, of Watertown, earned the ROTC Americanism Award for 2020 from the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Northern Masonic Jurisdiction. 

They are both junior wellness management majors at SUNY Oswego.

NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training offer 2020 Summer Webinar Series

The NYS & CSEA Partnership for Education and Training is pleased to announce the 2020 Summer Webinar Series. Webinars allow CSEA-represented New York State employees the opportunity to learn from the convenience of their office or home.

To participate in a webinar, employees need access to a phone, computer, and an internet connection. Participants access a website to see the instructor's computer screen and participate by using a telephone. Classes begin in early July.

Summer office hours (including virtual) to begin Monday

May 14, 2020

Summer office hours, whether virtual or on campus, for office employees will be effective Monday, May 18, 2020, the Office of Human Resources announced. 

Summer hours will be 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a half-hour lunch break.  Summer hours will remain in effect through Friday, Aug. 14. Regular office hours will resume on Monday, Aug. 17.
