Up-close bird-banding event set for Saturday

SUNY Oswego biological sciences faculty member Daniel Baldassarre will offer a free public bird catching and banding demonstration at Rice Creek Field Station from 8 to 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 7.

Employee Lot 31 to have limited access, starting Thursday

Due to a variety of end-of-semester special events, Lot 31 (between Marano and Penfield) will have limited access starting on Thursday, May 5.

The east half of the lot will be closed beginning at 7 a.m. on May 5  through Commencement day, May 14. This is to accommodate a large tent for OzFest, Torchlight and Commencement receptions.

This will mainly affect Penfield Library employees, who can park in Lot 1 west of Walker Health Center and south of Lanigan Hall as an alternative.

Summer office hours to begin May 16

April 28, 2022

Summer hours (8 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a 30-minute lunch break) for office employees will begin effective Monday, May 16, 2022.

Summer hours will remain in effect through Friday, Aug. 12, 2022. Regular office hours will resume as of Monday, Aug. 15, 2022.

Campus server maintenance scheduled for April 30

Volunteers needed to help with May Commencement ceremonies

The Public Ceremonies Committee is seeking volunteers for the three May Commencement ceremonies on Saturday, May 14, particulary those who can serve as ushers and guides to allow families and friends to enjoy this momentous occasion.

The May 2022 Commencement will feature three ceremonies. Anybody able to can work one, two or all three ceremonies would be most welcome.

Painting event to precede Denim Day

Member of the campus community are invited to turn a fashion statement into a social statement by bringing their denim and creativity to a Denim Day painting event from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, in the Marano Campus Center food court.

The Counseling Services Center's COPE (Counseling Outreach Peer Educators) team sponsors this free event.

TV Pilot Festival to showcase student work

The CRW 401 "Advanced Screenwriting" class will hosting a festival to showcase teasers to their pilot television shows, starting at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 28 in the Marano Campus Center auditorium (room 132).

The event will feature 18 pilots, and each one will have its teaser read. Teasers are no longer than five pages. The event is expected to last around two to two-and-a-half hours to accommodate all students' teasers. 

Light refreshments will be served.

Registration open for Senior Week activities

The Senior Class Planning Committee will present Senior Week 2022 from May 2 to 6.

The Class of 2022 is invited to celebrate the last week of classes with friends and peer. All events are free for SUNY Oswego seniors. You must be graduating in May, August or December 2022 to participate.

New Employee Assistance Program coordinator announced

The SUNY Oswego Employee Assistance Program (EAP) Committee is proud to announce that we now have a new EAP coordinator, Mangala Nanthakumar. Nanthakumar works on campus as part of the Environmental Health and Safety office, and has been an EAP committee member for the past several years. 

Communication Honor Society Lambda Pi Eta inducts new members, celebrates graduates

The Sigma Pi Chapter of Lambda Pi Eta at SUNY Oswego welcomed its new inductees in an induction ceremony on April 20. Lambda Pi Eta is the honor society of the National Communication Association for four-year colleges.
