Early opt-in for multi-factor authentication available

Campus Technology Services (CTS) announced earlier this month the campus will add a second layer of authentication to certain campus services including Blackboard, Zoom, Office 365, Adobe, Library databases, Administrative Banner and Spectrum U.

Advisement Center workshops open through end of week

The Advisement Center will continue hosting registration workshops the rest of this week.

During this time, Advisement Guides will help students understand how to review their degree requirements, use Registration and Planning, as well as browse courses and add them to registration plans. This is also a great opportunity to get a refresher on the registration process.

There will be 10 seats at each workshop available on a first-come first-served basis: No sign up is required.

Flags to fly at half-staff for passing of Madeleine Albright

American flags will fly at half-staff through sunset on Sunday, March 27, 2022, in honor of Madeleine Korbel Albright, following a proclamation by President Joseph Biden.

The first woman to serve as U.S. Secretary of State, Albright was "a force," Biden noted in his proclamation. "She defied convention and broke barriers again and again. She was an immigrant fleeing persecution. A refugee in need of safe haven. And like so many before her — and after — she was proudly American."

Drilling of Hewitt's geothermal wells is part of campus renewable energy plan

The construction of Hewitt Hall's geothermal well field is anticipated to start today (Tuesday, March 22).  Per SUNY Oswego Vice President for Administration and Finance Victoria Furlong, the contractor will start drilling the geothermal wells in Parking Lot R-9 (the lot south of Hart and Funnelle Halls). The duration of drilling is anticipated over the next five to six weeks and will only be allowed Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Noisy conditions are expected during drilling operations.  

On-Campus Internship Expo offers opportunities

Students interested in an on-campus internship will have a prime opportunity to connect from 3 to 5 p.m. in the Marano Campus Center concourse.

Attending SUNY Oswego’s spring On-Campus Internship Expo will allow students to connect with nearly 40 campus department supervisors, learn about their internship programs and communicate with some students currently completing academic internships with them.

Faculty and staff Walking to Wellness Challenge set for April

Faculty and staff members are invited to take the steps to get active in April and participate in Campus Rec and Fitness and the Employee Assistance Porgram's Walking to Wellness Challenge!

The program runs April 1 to 30. Prizes are awarded every week, for both the one who walks the most steps as well as a random winner -- plus a grand prize at the end of the challenge.
