'Tour of Black Excellence' on campus Thursday, Aug. 20

Thursday's Welcome Week activities will include the "A Tour of Black Excellence," a student-led program that seeks to connect new Oswego students to both past and present contributions that the Black community has made to Oswego and the surrounding area.  

Running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 20, with a dinner to follow, the event is hosted and organized by students Samisha Elysee and Tiffany Flores.

Centro bus shuttle schedules updated

Centro bus shuttles, offering free rides around campus for those with student IDs, resumed this week with additional updates coming through the Aug. 24 start of classes.

The Welcoming Torchlight ceremony is an honored tradition at SUNY Oswego during which alumni, faculty and staff pass on the Torch of Learning to incoming undergraduate and graduate students. It's their welcome as the newest members of the SUNY Oswego family.

The Oswego Alumni Association is sponsoring a pair of virtual presentations: 2018 alumna Angela Russell will perform music at 8 p.m. today (Wednesday, Aug. 12), while 2015 graduate Tiraya Conyers will present a virtual yoga session at 9 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 15.

Stuff-A-Bus seeks supplies to help local schoolchildren

The college's State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) campaign announced sponsorship of the annual Stuff-A-Bus campaign, which provides school supplies to children in need in Oswego County's nine school districts. Collection boxes currently in the Culkin Hall lobby will receive drop offs. The collection has begun and will run from through Friday, Aug. 21.

Special Artswego funding available for virtual arts experiences

In response to an emphasis placed on online learning caused by COVID-19, Artswego has created a new funding opportunity that serves to encourage virtual arts experiences (in physical and virtual classroom spaces) that enhance the cultural environment of the college and augment academic offerings.
