Casting pro whose credits include 'Black Panther,' 'Avengers' to speak to campus

Registration open for SUNY Startup Summer School

Registration is now open for SUNY Startup Summer School (S4), an 11-week virtual training program which provides faculty, students and staff with the knowledge and networks that will enable them to commercialize breakthrough technology.

Campus network maintenance scheduled April 17 and April 24

Campus Technology Services (CTS) will perform maintenance on the campus network on two different dates.

The first date will be on Saturday, April 17 from 6 to 9 a.m. During this time, some technology services will be unavailable for everyone on and off-campus. Some of the affected services include but are not limited to:

SEFA launches drive to support Oswego Bookmobile

The SUNY Oswego SEFA Committee is proud to announce a partnership with the Oswego Bookmobile to launch the first ever children’s book drive.

The effort invites campus and community members to donate new and like-new books for children ages 3 to 18. The book drive will run from now through May 10.

Sounds of Summer Playlist exploring the world

For its weekly themed Sounds of Summer Playlist, Extended Learning wants to know about what music from around the world you enjoy.

The playlist's weekly theme ties in with "Global Tones - Introduction to World Music," which is among the offerings of Summer Sessions 2021. This course explains the music of primarily non-Western cultures through the development of their musical instruments and sounds. Students will discover the intrinsic connection between a culture -- its religion, politics, economics, etc. -- and the music it makes.

QPR training offered to students to support suicide prevention

QPR Gatekeeper Training -- a suicide prevention training program that equips anyone with the framework to have difficult, but possibly life-saving conversations -- will provide two virtual training opportunities for SUNY Oswego undergraduate and graduate students.

QPR stands for "Question, Persuade, Refer," three steps anyone can learn to help prevent suicide. These sessions will be held via Zoom.
